 14th April 2006 - NCPA Lancs - Osbaledeston

Leo (Wayland Lion Heart) made his debut appearance for 2006 under saddle today.  He entered the novice M&M ring with 29 ponies !!  They then decided to split the class into large and small there were 7 small breeds.  So Leo re-entered the ring with 22 other large breeds.  The ring was very chaotic, but he coped well and was initially pulled in first, he done a lovely show but struggled with his gallop as he was distraced by some children playing in the passage.  On the final pull in he was placed 2nd, not bad out of 22 for his first show for 2006 and in fact only his second show ever under saddle with us.  Great start for 2006.

 9th April 2006

Bond (Woodfidley Saint George) competed in a mixed yearling class and won...He has come a long way from when we collected him in September newly weaned off the forest.

6th April 2006 - West Midlands Stallion Show

James (Mallards Wood Saint Peter) was in the 1/2/3 year old Nf/Conn class it contained 4 connemara 3 yr old colts !! and James the only yearling, James came 2nd, but I think he was very unlucky as did other around us who thought he would  win...During the class one of the colts got free and was running around the ring which caused chaos however James demonstrated a wonderful temperment and stood like a rock whilst the loose pony was caught.   James brought home the Peveril Pickwick Challenge Bowl and we were thrilled to see his sire, Peveril Peter Piper have won it 14 years previously.

27th March 2006

Bond (Woodfidley Saint George) attended his first ever show, he went in the M&M all ages class and was placed 2nd he beat some very nice mature ponies, we are thrilled a great start for him.

19th March 2006 - NCPA Derbyshire

James attended for the 1/2/3 yr old M&M class.  When we saw the other 10 entries we were a bit 'worried' they were mainly 3 year olds and a few 2 year olds only 2 yearlings one of those was James.  There were 9 welsh and 1 fell and 1 NF (us).  We were thrilled when James was placed 3rd they 1st and 2nd placed ponies both being 3&2 yr old welsh ponies, the judge ( section D breeder)  was very complementary, and said it is just his age that let him down !!!We feel he done really well in such a strong class of older ponies.  The most important thing as ever James LOVED it, he really does love to show...

11th March 2006 -

We went to look at a lovely yearling Sec D filly for David, she is perfect so we have bought her we are bringing her home on 13th March.  She has never loaded before so fingers crossed and watch this space...

5th March 2006 - NCPA Cheshire

James made his 2006 showing debut this weekend and took part in a mixed M&M 1/2/3 year old class and was placed 2nd, with great comments from the judge.

19th February 2006  - NPS Area 5

We took Casper out to make his show ring debut for 2006 in-hand.  He had a great day and a reverse of roles for David and I as I showed him in-hand and I loved every minute of it, he came 3rd in the novice and 4th in the open.  What a fun day we had.....

2006 - Is very much here now and the ponies are all looking well.

Bond is growing nicely and is a great playmate for James.  Saffy is living out with a bunch of Sec A broodmares and is loving it and growing well.

Holly is very heavily in-foal now we are looking forward to seeing her new baby which is due in April, a half brother or sister for Leo !!!

Leo has had a great winter and is throughly enjoying his ridden work.  He was retired from in-hand showing last summer after a wonderful in-hand season when he had his best wins ever, in October he took part in his first ridden show coming 2nd out of 12 in a strong novice class.  Leo will soon be back in the ring but under saddle this year.
