Mallards Wood Saint Peter and Woodfidley Saint George

David and I are thrilled our new colts are now here with us.  We spent a lovely weekend in Hampshire and travelled home with our new boys, we also brought back the Highfox studs 2 lovely new colts.  All four boys travelled wonderfully and they are now all settled in their new homes.

Tiverton Chico and Tiverton Mystical Princess

Tabby has never been to a show before and has in fact been living wild for over 12 months now, last Monday we brought her home along with her brother Casper who had been away for the Summer.  We decided to take her to her first show today (Sunday 11th September 2005) and thought we would take Casper to keep her company.  We chose a riding club show as we thought it would be a nice quiet outing for her, how wrong we were.  The Section A class had approx 15 entries and all very nice quality ponies.  We were very pleased when Casper was pulled in third and Tabby fourth, a nice start to her showing career.

NCPA Pony Of The Year

Wanstead Saffrons Saphire won the youngstock class.  Her Sire Wanstead Tarquin Moon went onto win the 4+ Over NF class.

We have bought another colt foal to join us in September, Woodfifley Saint George will make the journey North with our other new foal Mallards Wood Saint Peter.

PUK Summer Champs 2005 - Wayland Lionheart

This was Leo's last appearance as a M&M In-Hand as he is now ready to go out under saddle.  He competed in four classes at the show in two of them we were disappointed with the results gaining two 7ths which we feel he should of done much better in.  In his third class he was placed 3rd which we were pleased about it was a good class with quality ponies in.  On the Saturday David took him into the NF in-hand class and was delighted to win the class.  He then went into the NF Chamoionship and we were very surprised and delighted when he was awared championship, with Diane Handwens lovely colt Furzley Chariade in reserve, this was a swap round of the results at Cheshire show.  Leo won a Trophy for Champion New Forest, this trophy has been awareded every year since 1953 and it was great to see all the names of the ponies and owners it has been awareded to in the past, so it is off to the engravers now to add Leo once again to it.  Both David and I thought it was a nice way to end his M&M In-Hand showing.  So onto the next phase now.

NCPA Show Maelor 7/8/05   Wayland Lionheart

Leo had a great show winning the New Forest Championship, the NCPA Star Rosette and the gelding championship and qualifying for several 2006 in hand Ponies UK Championships, including the Glynn Greenwood, the Midas Hunter Pony and the Cedarwood.  It was a first for Leo to go out plaited up and he really suited it, I just need to practise plaiting a but more.

Mallards Wood Saint Peter won the foal class at the New Forest and Hampshire Show.

July 2005 - After spending a lovely weekend in the New Forest and meeting up with some very friendly and helpful people, we have found a lovely New Forest Colt.  His name is Mallards Wood Saint Peter and he will be known as James at home. We are hoping to get him the end of September.

Wanstead Saffrons Saphire - Midland In-Hand - Malvern

3rd NF Mixed age In-Hand

Saffy was a last minute entry at this show Leo was meant to be going but an hour before we set off we had to quickly chamge our minds.  Saffy has been turned away to grass so we had to go and collect her from her holiday home and take her down to Malvern.  It was the yearlings first ever away show and she had a great time.

Wanstead Saffrons Saphire - North Western Association of the Welsh Pony & Coc Society (Feb 2005)

At her first ever show she was in a Large Breeds mixed ages.  She was the only baby in the class.  There were 15 entrys, Saffy, a conemmara and the rest were welsh.  Saffy came third much to our delight.  A hard thing for a yearling NF at a Welsh show.
